Open Garden Our Lady’s Hospice – Saturday the 13th of May

The Hospice Gardens are a wonderful mix of both traditional and contemporary planting and design they are each distinctive and much loved gardens that are well worth a visit.

Our ‘Journey on Earth’ – The Hospice Garden’ won the ‘People’s Choice Award’ and a Silver Guilt medal at the Bloom Festival 2013.

An inspiration to all those that visit, the garden reflects our belief that Palliative Care is not preparation for the end of life it is an opportunity to celebrate someone special and their time on earth. Our patients’ spiritual and emotional journeys are echoed in this new garden with areas of social interaction as well as areas for quiet reflection, complimented by a variety of sensory experiences and memories for all who visit.

This is a ‘family fun day’ for everyone to enjoy.

Our wonderful Rose Garden was formally a garden developed by the Sisters of Charity who have since handed it over to the Hospice for patient use. It appeals to many of the senses as it is rich in colour and evocative scents. This established and much loved garden has sheltered areas for visitors and reflects seasonal changes providing a constant source of interest throughout the year.
