Harold’s Cross Village Community Council would like to express our appreciation and thanks for the immense support afforded to us by Dublin City Council and the central role they played in making the 2013 Community Festival such a success.
This was our fourth Festival and anyone who attended could not but be impressed at the fruits of the efforts of the residents, businesses and community groups who worked together to deliver such an enjoyable and memorable Festival. We would like to express our gratitude to them all.
It is remarkable and encouraging that Harold’s Cross Village can produce from its residents and immediate neighbours such an array of artists, authors, balloonists, baton twirlers, brownies, caterers, Civil Defence, community groups, cleaners, dancers, decorators, electricians, face painters, film makers, firemen, gardeners, Gardaí, girl guides, graphic designers, historians, instrumentalists, jugglers, magicians, musicians, organisers, photographers, presenters, printers, scouts, security officers, singers, soldiers, sports clubs, stewards, technicians and webmasters – giving of their time and talent on voluntary or direct expenses basis.
The Community Council intends to build on the good will and community spirit generated by the Festival through other initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in Harold’s Cross. We will be seeking your ideas in the near future. We will continue to encourage residents to “Shop local and support our village businesses”.
