Dublin city council have made a decision on the St. Clare’s Development
Dublin city council have made a decision on the St. Clare’s Development . Unusually, it is a split decision, in that they have granted permission for much of the development with conditions, (which include retaining the rear facade of San Damiano and not allowing building up to this rear facade), but have refused permission for the demolition of building’s 115, 117,119 Harold’s Cross Road which will mean that it will not be possible to construct block J.
It is interesting to note that the conservation section of the city council submitted a very strong report on the scheme and it’s impact on the historic heritage and called for these buildings to be retained and for the retention of much of the San Damiano building.
All in all another reason why we need a vision and plan for the area – to stress the need for good quality development, so nb for our community meeting on Monday 6th July in Harold’s Cross National School!
